Pilates for Sport

Certain sports have a tendency to concentrate on certain movements while neglecting others. For example, tennis and golf, which can be very one-sided.

The weaker side then has to be exercised to balance the muscles of the left and right sides of the body. Pilates, therefore, can help restore these imbalances, leading to a better posture and a balanced body.

In sports injuries, quite often the body tries to compensate for the area of the body that isn't working properly.

Pilates concentrates on remobilising and stretching the injured muscles and moving stiffened joints; while still concentrating on rebalancing the body as a whole.

Ali has many sports people who visit the studio to help them with their desired sport, and also any sports injuries that may occur, such as tennis or golfer's elbow, knee pain etc. There are cyclists, swimmers, runners, golfers and tennis players to name but a few.
